I Shot Andy Warhol

FilmColumbia 2023 honors the visionary producers and founders of Killer Films, Christine Vachon and Pam Koffler. Camp and I Shot Andy Warhol are just a few of the films Vachon and Koffler have produced over the decades.

The shooter (Valerie Solanas) and the shot (Andy Warhol) are the focus of Mary Harron’s 1996 classic film dramatizing this infamous incident. Solanas, a hooker and the angry author of The SCUM Manifesto,was trying to get Warhol to produce her play, Up Your Ass, but apparently decided to off him instead. Lili Taylor is heart stopping as Solanas. Look for Michael Imperioli, pre-Sopranos, in a small role, as well as a rogue’s gallery of riveting actors.
