The United States is suffering a drug and alcohol addiction epidemic. Uprooting Addiction is a documentary film focusing on how this epidemic is affecting the Northwest Corner of Connecticut. While the Northwest Corner may seem to be a pocket of great beauty and tranquility, it is devastated by addiction like the rest of the country. Uprooting Addiction focuses on heartfelt stories of people with histories of trauma and addiction. The film offers a unique window into the hardships and triumphs of an often marginalized, misunderstood, and stigmatized population.

This film will be shown free of charge as a service to the community. Chatham Chief of Police Peter Volkmann, a recognized expert on the subject, will appear with the film.
