A droll, raw, sardonic, cheekily resonant, and very, very funny debut feature from Joanna Arnow about the intellectual and sexual satisfactions of masochism. Written, directed, edited, and starring Arnow as Ann, often in the nude. Her main partner in humiliation is Allen, about whom, in spite of their many years “together,” she knows little; he is played with ferocious understatement by Chatham’s own Scott Cohen. A wickedly good American indie. Played the Cannes and Toronto festivals.
