To celebrate the grand reopening, the Crandell welcomes producer Noah Lang to the stage for a special showing of The Climb. Viewers will recognize Chatham’s own Main Street and the Crandell Theatre as the setting for certain scenes in the film.

Kyle and Mike are best friends who share a close bond — until Mike sleeps with Kyle’s fiancée. The Climb centers on a tumultuous but enduring relationship between two men across many years of laughter, heartbreak and rage. It is also the story of real-life best friends who turn their profound connection into a rich, humane and frequently uproarious film about the boundaries (or lack thereof) in all close friendships. The film premiered at Cannes Film Festival in 2019, winning in the “Un Certain Regard” category.

“It’s a beautiful film, a piece of absurdism that goes straight to the heart.” — Joe Morgenstern, Wall Street Journal
