Featuring the Talking Heads’ most memorable songs and directed by the late Jonathan Demme, Stop Making Sense is considered by critics to be the greatest concert film of all time. Originally released in 1984, this newly restored 4k version brings it all back to electrifying life: David Byrne, in his billowy big sui;, bandmates Tina Weymouth, Chris Franz and Jerry Harrison; Parliament-Funkadelic’s Bernie Worrell; and the Brothers Johnson’s Alex Weir sing, play, harmonize, dance, run and just don’t stop for 18 songs. Demme shot his film for three nights at Hollywood’s Pantages Theater in December 1983. The 4K version (screening in 2K at the Crandell with cinema sound) brings you one step closer to being there.

“The pleasure of the music is overpowering.” — Peter Bradshaw, The Guardian
“The drama that Demme evokes in Stop Making Sense is the artistic self-transcendence that emerges from collaboration in performance.” — Richard Brody, The New Yorker
