While on a forgettable first date together in Ohio, a black man (Get Out’s Daniel Kaluuya) and a black woman are pulled over for a minor traffic infraction. The situation escalates, with sudden and tragic results. Terrified and in fear for their lives, the man, a retail employee, and the woman, a criminal defense lawyer, are forced to go on the run. But the incident is captured on video and goes viral, and the couple unwittingly becomes a symbol of trauma, terror, grief and pain for people across the country. With Jodie Turner-Smith and Chloë Sevigny. Written by Lena Waithe (The Chi). Rated R for violence, some strong sexuality, nudity, language and drug use.

“An intense outlaw romance [that] feels like something new, and also as if it’s been around forever, waiting for its moment.” — A.O. Scott, New York Times
“There’s no getting around the appeal of these two characters, as Kaluuya and Turner-Smith play them…” — Stephanie Zacharek, TIME Magazine
“At its best, Queen & Slim isn’t just a crime drama but a nuanced portrayal of family, legacy and self-preservation—how they’re distorted by trauma and history, and how they thrive despite the near-constant threat of annihilation.” — Ann Hornaday, Washington Post
