Is there any question Russia was involved in the election of Donald Trump? Maxim Pozdorovkin, a Russian now living and working in Brooklyn as an independent filmmaker (Pussy Riot: A Punk Prayer) answers no, if indirectly, in his gobsmacking assemblage of clips taken from Russian news broadcasts during the 2016 Presidential campaign. Trump is portrayed as America’s savior while Clinton is seen as a murderous witch who belongs in an asylum. Since Russian television is controlled by the Kremlin, there’s little question whose candidacy Putin vigorously promoted. This is horrifyingly entertaining and, in its willful awfulness, absurdly comic.
