Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin star as estranged friends who reunite to seek revenge on the petulant widower (Malcolm McDowell) of their recently deceased best friend. Along the way, Fonda’s character reunites with her great love (Richard Roundtree) as each woman learns to make peace with the past and each other. From the director of About a Boy, this dark comedy is yet another recent example of the the Fonda/Tomlin renaissance that began in 2015 with their acclaimed Netflix series, Grace and Frankie.

“Tomlin brings out Fonda’s best, rounding out those brittle edges, as their characters continue to have wild adventures and evolve, letting go and moving on, long past their eligibility for Social Security.” — Thelma Adams, AARP Movies for Grownups
“We’ve been spoiled this past decade, discovering what Fonda and Tomlin can do together. Why didn’t Hollywood see the potential of this pairing half a century earlier?” — Peter Debruge, Variety
