Memoria

Made by the famed Thai moving image artist, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, whose works appear in art galleries as well as in cinemas, and who won Cannes’ Palme d’Or in 2010 for Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives. Memoria is beautiful, mysterious, and compelling. It imagines a woman (Tilda Swinton) in Colombia trying to understand the explosions she hears in her head. The Guardian, Peter Bradshaw wrote, it “decelerates your heartbeat.”
