Fresh from its Golden Nymph win at the Monte Carlo Film Festival, FilmColumbia presents the American premiere of Martha Liebermann, a true story set in Berlin 1942. The widow of Max Liebermann, the towering German artist and former head of the Prussian Academy of Arts until the Nazis took power, Martha must decide to escape Germany or, as a Jew, be transported to a concentration camp where, at 88, she will surely die. Thekla Carola is astonishing in the title role.
