Bill Nighy stars in this British remake of Akira Kurosawa’s 1952 samurai-less masterpiece, Ikiru, adapted by Nobel Prize-winning Japanese novelist Kazuo Ishiguro (Remains of the Day). Nighy plays a functionary given a death sentence by his doctor: days to live before he is felled by cancer. Premiered at Sundance.
