A moving film about a poverty-stricken ten-year old boy, Vanya, who lives in a shack by the sea and witnesses a savage fight between two men on the beach. Vanya embarks on a perilous journey into town to find help that turns into a struggle to save a man caught in a police sweep of illegal immigrants. The boy’s desperate search becomes a fable about illusion, loneliness, and the inability of humans to communicate with each another.
