If you’ve never heard of Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats, aka, CRISPR, one of the most exciting breakthroughs in genetic editing since the discovery of DNA, you will learn all about it in this startling documentary produced by, among others, Dan Rather. Embarrassed by your child’s elephant ears? Never again.  Both inspiring and scary, genetic editing may help demote cancer and a range of other human plagues to the level of the common cold, but it also raises a host of knotty ethical problems. Played the SXSW Film Festival.
