Adam Driver stars as Enzo Ferrari, the former racecar driver who with his wife, Laura (Penélope Cruz), turned his passion into a luxury business. Set in the summer of 1957, when bankruptcy loomed, the film centers on the Mille Miglia, a treacherous, 1,000-mile race across Italy that Ferrari hoped would save his empire. With a recently deceased heir, and a mistress and bastard son on the sidelines, Ferrari’s story is equal parts Shakespearean drama and action film. Director Michael Mann and cinematographer Erik Messerschmidt fire on all cylinders in the breathtaking racing shots.

Ferrari has crossed the finish line in style. It’s exciting, intelligent, witty and elegant, with a central performance that’s a knockout.” — Leonard Maltin, leonardmaltin.com
“You’re about as deep inside this character’s head as imaginable, though given the glimpses you catch of what’s inside and all the damage that Enzo does, it is the filmmaker more than the character who holds you rapt.” — Manohla Dargis, The New York Times
