Winner of the Audience Award at Berkshire International and selected to open Lincoln Center’s Dance on Film Festival, Call Me Dancer was shot over several years in India, Israel, England and the US. It follows the evolution of a young Mumbai street dancer, Manish Chauhan, as he learns both classic and contemporary dance at the hands of Yehuda Maor, a retired dancer, now a demanding and feisty teacher, who becomes his champion. Although injury and COVID intervene, Manish’s extraordinary talent and immense charm survive and excel.
