Speaking of the Academy Awards, we have a surprise in store for you: Bombshell, which won a Hair and Makeup Oscar for transforming Oscar-nominated Charlize Theron’s golden locks into some facsimile of Megyn Kelly’s. Theron, assisted by Academy Award winner Nicole Kidman, Academy Award nominee John Lithgow and Academy Award nominee Margot Robbie, stars in this explosive exposé of Roger Ailes’ Fox News. The surprise is the man who wrote the movie: Charles Randolph, who won an Oscar for The Big Short.

Randolph has a home in the south county. He will introduce the film on Sunday the 23rd and answer questions afterwards.

“Here’s the thing about sexism: It doesn’t discriminate. It’s an equal opportunity prejudice that cuts across history, culture, political affiliation. Bombshell gets this.” — Manohla Dargis, New York Times
“Theron, Kidman and Robbie—all nominees for Screen Actors Guild awards—come out blazing in this tale of how the women of Fox News brought down a predatory CEO. It’s explosive entertainment that means to make a difference. Listen up.” — Peter Travers, Rolling Stone
Bombshell tells a crucial chapter of that larger tale with coolheaded style and heated indignation. Its aim might be narrow, but it hits the target.” — Ann Hornaday, Washington Post
““…no matter where you stand on erstwhile Fox personalities Megyn Kelly and Gretchen Carlson, Bombshell, a hybrid comedy and real-life horror story directed by Jay Roach (of Austin Powers and Meet the Parents fame) and written by Charles Randolph (The Big Short), aims to convince us that they are, above all, human beings.” — Stephanie Zacharek, TIME Magazine
