The classic tale of the little sheep-pig who could, this lovely film set the bar high for live-action animation when it was released to universal acclaim in 1995. Babe’s special effects won it an Oscar and, upon re-release several years later, it was no longer simply a movie for kids. Some critics at the time suggested it might even be the perfect date movie. The surprising set of filmmakers includes George Miller (Mad Max, Three Thousand Years of Longing), who produced the film and adapted the screenplay with Director Chris Noonan.
“Babe is a movie made with charm and wit, and unlike some family movies it does not condescend, not for a second.” — Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times
