Amores Perros, aka Love’s a Bitch, the debut film from five time Oscar winner Alexandro Gonzalez Inarritu, tells three stories of life in the margins of Mexico City. Octavio is sharing an apartment with his brother, which leads to a serious problem when he falls in love with Susanna, his sister-in-law. Elsewhere, Daniel, a successful publishing magnate, leaves his family to take up with a beautiful model, Valeria. And finally, El Chivo is an elderly homeless man who is trying to contact his daughter, whom he hasn’t seen in years.

Amores feels like the first classic of the new decade, with sequences that will probably make their way into history.” — Elvis Mitchell, New York Times
“One of the most honored and most expertly articulated Mexican films of recent years.” — Andrew Sarris, New York Observer
“It finds the human beauty that spills out of the knife wounds.” — Wesley Morris, San Francisco Chronicle
