There’s always a seat for you at the Crandell Theatre, and now you can permanently commemorate one with a brass name plate to support our Capital Campaign Renovation and Restoration project. Be a part of our upcoming 100th Anniversary and leave a legacy for generations!
Your support of our “Have a Seat” campaign will directly contribute to the 100th Anniversary restoration of Chatham’s beautiful and historic movie theater, host to year-round films, community events, children’s programs, and the renowned FilmColumbia.

Do you have more than one person you’d like to honor? You can purchase more than one seat!
You Name It
What a great way to honor your partner, children, friends, business, pet, and/or yourself by naming a seat (or seats) for them. Be creative! For $500 per seat, your name and/or message will be printed on a metal nameplate installed on the armrest of one of the theater’s brand new chairs. Donors to the “Have a Seat” campaign will also be acknowledged with an onscreen slide and a poster in the snazzy new lobby.

You Claim It
Comfortable seating, complete with back support and cupholders, is a top priority in the Crandell’s renovation and restoration. Now, as the work is about to begin, we invite you to choose your named seat from the theater’s updated floor plan.
Please Note: You are free to sit in your “seat” any time you find it available. We cannot, however, reserve it for you in advance.
Take a Test Drive
During FilmColumbia, try out a model of the new seats for yourself in the Crandell and FilmColumbia Merchandise Store at the front of the theater. You can also select your seat, purchase your name plate, and choose your message.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Click on one of the links below to choose your seats. These links take you either to select your seat(s) in the Theater Main Level or in the Balcony Level.
- Once you complete the ticket purchase process, your confirmation email will include a link to a Google Form where you must put in your contact information, seat selection(s), and text for your name plate(s) to fully complete the purchase.
- When deciding on text for your name plate(s), you have the choice of one line or two (see photo above). The character limit for the first line, with smaller text, is 22 characters. The limit for the second line, with larger text, is 18 characters. For example: Line 1: The Crandell’s No. 1 Fan. Line 2: Dan Callahan.
- Please use the same email when filling out the Google Form and when purchasing your seat on our ticket page. You will receive a copy of your Google Form via email 0nce completed.
