John Lennon Birthday Tribute
DOUBLE FEATURE
On what would have been John Lennon’s 84th
birthday, come celebrate at the Crandell with
a double feature of Yesterday (2019) and
Daytime Revolution (2024).
In this surprise feel-good hit, Jack Malik (Himesh Patel) is a struggling singer-songwriter in a tiny English seaside town. His dreams of fame are rapidly fading, despite the fierce devotion and support of his childhood best friend, Ellie (Lily James). Then, after a freak bus accident during a mysterious global blackout, Jack wakes up to discover that the Beatles have never existed…and he finds himself with a very complicated problem, indeed. The Beatles-inspired soundtrack, unique premise and charming cast all help make for a memorable cinematic experience.
“Yesterday invites the audience, along with the characters on screen, to hear some of the finest songs ever written for the very first time.” — Ann Hornaday, The Washington Post
“Danny Boyle’s apparently simple style actually relies on a complicated balance of sweetness, naturalness, and big, bright settings.” — Caryn James, BBC.com
