Reemerging from an arranged marriage at thirteen and a traditional life in Kabul, fifty-two-year-old Hawa Noori learns to read and write as she plans to start her own textile business. Najiba, Hawa’s journalist daughter, helps educate her mother and records her progress until the Taliban enter Kabul in August 2021. Najiba, an educated modern woman, must decide whether to stay or flee. Written and directed by Najiba Noori.
