The latest satire from contemporary cinema’s most mischievous and astute social critic, Radu Jude, takes place in Cluj, a wealthy city in Romania. Things go horribly wrong after the deeply religious bailiff Orsolya serves an eviction notice to a homeless man. He’s been squatting where a new boutique hotel will be built. Orsolya (Eszter Tompa) suffers a crisis of conscience but no one wants to listen, as progress takes precedence over ethics. Then her former law student, now a renegade, shows up.
