Food guru Ruth Reichl joins us to screen and discuss her documentary on the precarious state of our independent food chain, thrown into relief by the onslaught of Covid that dramatically disrupted business-as-usual. The film casts a wide net. Interviews with a colorful array of ranchers, farmers, restaurateurs, and chefs noodle a variety of issues including consolidation in the meatpacking and beef industries, the disenfranchisement of Black farmers, and factory farming, with Reichl all the while serving as a companionable and knowledgeable guide. Played the Sundance Film Festival.
Ruth Reichl will speak after the screening.
