The moment Flow, an astonishing achievement, had its world premiere at Cannes, a major new talent in global animation announced himself: 29 year-old Gints Zilbalodis. A cat, escaping a flood, finds a boat that unexpectedly becomes an ark of sorts. Other animals join the watery survival journey. Indiewire called the film “a groundbreaking wordless charmer with its detailed animation, deep focus, and most importantly, drama”.
